We used the images of public art as “color” within a shell of typography. With a compendium palette of artsy color combinations and a simple set of icons, we created a look that felt well saddled alongside the city’s beautiful works of art. ArtSaMo also acts as an umbrella to several institutions that the Santa Monica Cultural Affairs Division manages including Camera Obscura, The Miles Playhouse, The Annenberg Community Beach House, and the Civic Auditorium. The platform centers around one main message: Go See Art. Over time, it has encompassed the Art in the Park series of events like Indigenous Now and Jazz on the Lawn and continues to spread awareness of city funded art throughout Santa Monica.
